Analysis and exchange of information

Apart from the products which are publicly available, various products for experts were developed. They are either protected by passwords or installed only on designated workstation. These are:

• WebGIS Plus: this service offers additional specialized analysis tools compared to the public version of the WebGIS. I.E. tools to visualize flood information for one point, the creation of 3D-cross-section-lines or the evaluation of water volumes for a specific area.
• DesktopGIS: this extension for ESRI ArcMap is providing additiontal analysis tools to the standard GIS-functions for the analysis of flood situations.
• Platform for the exchange of information of flood alert services in the catchment areas of the Mosel and Saar (PLATIN MS): this service was developed in order to ensure the exchange of information between the flood forecasting centers in times of crisis and across language barriers. It enables the transfer of structured and forms based as well as informal messages among the selected users. These messages can be instantly transferred to the concerned operation centers/crisis headquarters through the integrated email, fax and text message services.
