Area of interest

The area of interest is the region where the three countries of Luxembourg, Germany and France all meet, taking in the catchment areas of the Mosel, Nahe and parts of the Rhine. The project is compiling flood hazard maps for around one hundred rivers and streams with an overall length of 3,200 kilometres. The actual flood forecast covers an area of approximately 55,000 square kilometres.
